About
I'm the middle child - oldest son - in a family
with five kids - a post WWII "baby boomer" generation kid. The returning
GI's spearheaded the 'flight' from cities and farms to the newly created 'suburbs'.
Row upon row of tract-housing sprang up overnight to meet the demand.
I grew up in one of those 'suburbs', outside Kansas City Missouri,
in the small town of Independence Missouri. Jesse James spent a night in
jail here and the town produced one of our more esteemed Presidents, Harry S Truman.
I attended St. Mary's grade school, also went to church there,
and was raised Roman Catholic. Later, I attended Palmer junior high and
William Chrisman, Truman, and Raytown high schools.
I've always held a deep love for science .. this translated into a job working for
Hallmark Cards in their Data Processing department. In college I studied computer sciences
and continued this training during my four years in the Navy. I feel lucky I've
been able to work at something I enjoy doing so thoroughly for the last forty years.
I currently work for Ericsson, contracting to the Sprint Network group in Overland Park Kansas.
I write scripts, applications, and websites, related to monitoring and administering the various newtowks, for the groups within NTAC, NOC, and the field.
